Yeah…not much going on. Nothing I feel like writing about anyway. Weekend was good though.

More later?

So here is everything together. I still want to add a few little things here and there, like some potted plants, maybe some umbrella lights; to fill out the patio a little more…BUT, I think it’s looks pretty good! You should have seen my patio before, it was no where fun to hang out…unless you felt like getting rust on your shirt or something. Notice the chairs too- not bad for a $5 chair from K-Mart. :)

I’m so happy! My table looks so awesome & I am so proud that I am worse than a proud parent(notice the multitude of pics)–haha.

Ahh well. It does look pretty damn cool, don’t you think? I painted it red last night, then when I went back out in the garage to check on it, I got this inspiration to do something funky. So I sprayed some of my spray paint in a tiny bowl, got a little water color paintbrush out of some old school supplies, dipped it in the bowl and went wild, slinging paint (black & metallic silver) everywhere. It was so liberating.

Then, I went back this morning and put a layer of black and silver stars over it all, which pushed it over the edge of coolness, and now my back yard patio is by invite only….yes it’s that cool. ;)

Oh yeah, and I had to throw in a picture of the bottom of the table leg, just to show my attention to detail…maybe I’ll get some requests and get rich or something…yay!

I also have some white plain patio chairs that I found this cool new spray paint for; the paint bonds itself to plastic, which means you really can’t tell it’s even been painted, and used to be white..because now they are black! I just got done adding some detail to them, so tomorrow I’ll show them off, along with my table on my patio with it’s new umbrella! I’m so excited, aren’t you?

I plan on spending the entire weekend on my back patio..grilling, drinking wine, playing cards-it doesn’t matter-as long as I’m close to my table :)

My Project

Posted by Glenda under Uncategorized

It’s almost 2 am, and I’m still awake…but this time doing something constructive!!

–I like to put new life into things, that otherwise just look like trash, or really dull and worn; I do it quite a bit actually. Two weeks ago I took an old, worn out Regulator Chime clock of my parents, that had crusted varnish peeling off and numerous dings to the wood in it, and took it apart piece by piece, sanded it down and painted it black. The natural wood wasn’t nice enough to just put a clear varnish over. Anyways..the difference is amazing, the clock looks bad ass..or at the very least a hell of a lot better than it used to! I will have to take a picture of it tomorrow so you can see. When I was working on it, I was thinking that I should take a before picture, so people that commented on how nice it looked could see what it used to look like. But alas..I was too lazy, and never got the cam.

Well…..I have this metal patio table that my mother-in-law gave me a few years ago. She had used a textured spray paint finish on it, to make it fit better with her patio furniture at the time, but it ended up peeling really bad, and not looking so nice. So she bought a new table, and gave this one to me. I actually started working on it a year ago, but got overwhelmed after the stripper went down to the metal when I didn’t want it too. I was just wanting to get the textured gunk off. So I ended up having half of the table a nice shiny metal, and the other the original base white color. Fast forward a year, and it was half rusty half dirty white..not too mention the legs were still covered in the textured crap.

Out of nowhere today I thought, “I’m need to finish that table..Mmmmm, Home Depot..” So off I went without a clue of what I really wanted to do to it, I just new I wanted it a nice bright red. Anyway..that’s all I’m going to say for now, because I don’t want to give up the final product. I spent all night scraping the gunk off the legs with a little putty knife, and then sanding the whole table down until it was smooth. I’ve got the primer on, and 2 coats of the base color on (red), and as I went out to shut up my garage I got inspired and did something really cool too it. All I have tomorrow are the final touches. It’s going to look so cool…I kid you not! :) Well, cool to me anyway.

Anyway, the best part of it all, is that I took a before picture!! Hooray for me!!So for anybody that was interested enough to actually finish this long boring post…you can see what I started out with. Jumping out of your seat aren’t you? I knew you would be! ;)

(tune in tomorrow for pics of it finished)

Look Up

Posted by Glenda under Uncategorized

I love when the sky is so clear and crisp. I was laying out for a little while, and decided I had to get a picture of it.

So far so good, for a Monday, things are going pretty smooth :) I think it’s the positive thinking. Like if I would have thought this was going to be a horrible day it would have been, but I had it in my mind that today was going to be a better day, and so it is. Yay :)

A joke

Posted by Glenda under Uncategorized

A big polar bear and a little rabbit are taking a dump side by side in the snow. The bear looks down at the rabbit and in a deep voice says, “Excuse me, Mr. Rabbit, but do you have trouble with poop sticking to your fur?”
The Rabbit looks up at the huge bear and in his squeaky voice says, “Why, no, Mr. Bear, I sure do not. “
So the bear scoops up the rabbit and wipes his butt with him.

–The first time I heard this I couldn’t stop laughing, my husband says it’s an old one..but just in case you haven’t heard it, I thought I’d share it.

Pitiful

Posted by Glenda under Uncategorized

Yes..I need help. I got this template off the web though, so it didn’t take long too fine tune, 20 minutes actually. I like the little reaper guy in the corner..it sold me. So I just might keep this template for a while? Wonder what the odds are? If anyone reads this blog on a daily or semi daily basis, they know I’m a little fickle when trying to stick with what my blog is going to look like. It’s kind of funny; I still need some professional help though. :)

My weekend was totally worthless. I didn’t do ANYTHING, just stayed home and played out in the backyard with the kids, I got a little inflatable pool “castle,” so I laid back, and got a little sun. Notice…I said “a little” I went for about 30 minutes without putting on sunscreen, any longer…and I would be a lobster. Baby steps ;) It’s the whole red hair thing, it always gets in the way.

Anyway, I guess everything else is going ok. I’m in my own hidden funk, but I’m hoping to start fresh tomorrow, it being a Monday and all. I still hate Monday’s but it’s also a good time to get started on the right foot. I finally called my mother today. It had been nearly 3 weeks, and I didn’t do it on purpose, but the longer it went without me calling her, the worse I felt about it, so I didn’t call her because I felt guilty. Stupid huh? I broke the cycle today though, so I don’t want to get back in it. I’m going to call her again WED, and send her a little package tomorrow. That alone should lift me up a little. I hate having a weight on my shoulder because of something I did, or didn’t do. My conscience is too damn big! So I end up retreating into myself…which is never good..not as deep as I go.

Here’s to Monday….don’t disappoint me!! :)

Felt like a change..

Posted by Glenda under Uncategorized

I worked on a new template…it’s ok, a little lighter..I’ll probably change it in a few days ;)

Yesterday I found out we are being stationed in New York at Ft. Drum, next June. I’m not really sure how I feel about it yet. I don’t know anything about the east coast, and whenever I mention it to someone here they just talk about how cold it is. That worries me…cause I really hate the cold. I just wish I knew more about the area.

Anyway..I’m headed to bed. I think I had to much sun today, and I have the chills :(

ZOBMONDO!!

Posted by Glenda under Uncategorized

Yesterday was my 10 yr anniversary, that’s hard to believe, even for me. Anyway, my husband actually got out of his field exercise and got to come home yesterday! That was pretty awesome. We went out and had an awesome dinner…it was a good night.

On the way back to our car after dinner, we went into this little shop in Aggieville that had the coolest stuff. I got this book called “Zobmondo! - The outrageous book of bizarre choices” This book is insane!

Here is some of the front page:

Zobmondo!! (zob MAHN-doe) is a slang expression derived form the negative exclamation “zob,” to express horro, pain, or frustration: “Mary tripped over the log and stubbed her toe. ‘Zob!’ she cried.” Zobmondo!! expresses the utter dismay that zob cannot begin to describe. “As Mary broke her foot and looked down to see the bone protruding from the side of her shoe, she screamed in excruciating pain, ‘Zobmondo!!’

–Within the context of this book the word Zobmondo!! would likely be heard after a question is asked. The expression reflects the difficulty that one faces in choosing between the equally unappealing and often horrific options in each question.

So basically the book gives you these questions, where you are obligated to choose between two scenarios; some of them aren’t horrible, but some are just disgusting….and some of them just make you think.

I’ll tell you one thing…it’s a definite conversation starter…even if it’s just moans of disgust!

You want to hear one of the scenarios don’t you?? I knew you did… Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

Would you rather…

Have to kill Winnie the Pooh
OR
Bambi?

(here’s one more for good luck)

Would you rather…

Eat a live tarantula
OR
Hold a live wasp in your mouth for one minute?

My answers: I would kill Bambi..hearing pooh scream…would just be too much to bear. And I would eat the live tarantula, and chew hard and fast and get it over with. With a wasp in your mouth for that long…OUCH…can you imagine??

And trust me….these were some of the mild questions! Remember the goal is to make yourself choose, there are no other options.

Have fun :)
