Galvanized Steel
So maybe I’m being a little over-dramatic, but it was a dramatic moment in time. Today is good, and tomorrow will be even better.
I saw an episode today of Six Feet Under, the last of the first season actually, and there was a lady asking why people have to die. “To make life important” was the answer she received, and that none of us know how long we have left so it’s important to make each day matter. “A life well lived is the most any of us can hope for”
I guess it’s nothing any of us haven’t heard before, I know I’ve heard it many times; this was the first time I heard it though.
For as positive as I can be sometimes, a lot of my outlook’s on life and people are very pessimistic. One day I was thinking to myself and realized that basically, as depressing as it may sound…we are all here just waiting to die. And whats even worse is we have no choice when our time comes. It could be in your prime, it could be way before…it could be when your old and grey and suffering immensely.
Harsh but ohhh so true, and it all can be very depressing.
Until I saw this show today. There’s nothing depressing when you die and your life was well lived. Not just sitting around waiting to die, but LIVING, and making the life of those around you better because of it, because the fervor of life is contagious.
It’s inspiring.
So I’m sitting here and just thinking of how to make the most out of today, and realizing how many options I have.
It’s makes me grateful for the choice, and it makes all my worries and complaints fade..not completely out of the picture…but so much less important than before.
